CBC scheme of work generator

A full term's scheme of work for each class and learning area, in the layout Kenyan teachers and inspectors already use, prepared from the curriculum design in one click.

How it works

The scheme of work is built from three things your school already has: the curriculum design for the learning area, your timetable, and the term dates.

  1. The curriculum design is read in once. Upload the KICD design as a PDF or photos. NyotaSkul reads it into strands, sub-strands, specific learning outcomes, key inquiry questions, learning experiences, competencies, values and PCIs. Two people review it before teachers use it.
  2. Lessons are counted from your timetable. If Grade 6 has five Science and Technology lessons a week, the scheme has five rows per week.
  3. The term is split for you. Sub-strands are spread across the weeks in proportion to their suggested lessons.
  4. The teacher reviews and approves. Then the head teacher approves it, or returns it with a note.

The approved scheme feeds everything after it: each row becomes a lesson in the teacher's Today view, a lesson plan Nyota drafts, and a line in the record of work when the lesson is finished.

Questions about the scheme of work generator

Which grades and learning areas does it cover?

Any grade from PP1 to Grade 9 whose curriculum design your school uploads. Schools can also adopt a curated scheme from the shared library as their own copy.

Can the teacher change the generated scheme?

Yes. The scheme is a draft until the teacher approves it, and the head teacher can return it with a note.

What happens if lessons are missed?

Re-pacing a scheme after missed lessons, holidays and exam weeks is coming soon. Today, the record of work shows exactly which rows have been taught.

Can I print it?

Yes. Schemes print cleanly or save as PDF.
